How to not worry by Diana Crawford

Have you ever looked at a bird and envied their carefree ways? Their beauty is natural and no worry seems to follow them......but for us humans, some days can seem overwhelming and anxiety can engulf the heart. As we visited the Grand Canyon and all of its majesty, these birds landed in front of us seemingly unaware of the magnificent creation all around them!

They sat quietly on a branch fully relaxed and I believe filled with a natural joy born from trust.

It amazes me that they don't worry.....they aren't afraid they will fall, they aren't afraid they'll starve and they're not consumed with impressing the world. Instead they enjoy all God has for them without allowing fear to rule their hearts. Gods word clearly tells us He loves us and we can trust Him. How many days, hours and even minutes are wasted on fear of what might happen?

How many nights do we lose sleep from an anxious heart over impending future problems that in all likelihood will never come to pass? We only get one physical life...A life that can choose to trust or panic.

God has surrounded us with so much of His creation to tell us who He is and to entice us to let Him be our hope. He asks us to let Him carry our burdens.

Matthew 6:26

"Look at the birds in the sky. They don't sow seed or harvest grain or gather crops into barns, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you worth much more than they?"

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." 1 Peter 5:7

Give ALL your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.

Test Him with your trust and see that He is true. I challenge you to look around and take in the many ways God speaks of His faithfulness through nature.

And remember His word that "we are worth much more than the birds of the air."

Rest in Him who gave His very life to show us we can trust Him!
