There was war before there was man.
Those who study the Bible quickly see the central role of violence. Be it divine justice, furious wrath or loving discipline, the Holy Scripture drips with blood. The Lord is a Warrior; He is Jehovah Nissi, our banner of victory. Throughout the Pentateuch we see a God of combat. The deities of Egypt are massacred, Canaanites are obliterated, and dust swallows a pile of corpses behind His Holy Cloud. So God fights, but when and why does He expect us to fight? This book is the beginning of that answer.
‘All scripture is God inspired and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, and correction in all righteousness that the man of God may be thoroughly furnished for all good works (2Tim3:16-17).’ The Bible is the greatest source on fighting. It testifies of that purpose from within. General Joab sites the death of Abimelech as reason why not to engage in battle so close to an enemy walls (2Sam11:21, Jd9:53). King Saul copies the tactics used in the Judges civil war as well as the strategy of Gideon (1Sam11:7, 11, Jd19:29-30, 7:20). Joshua emulates the inspiring actions of Moses to conquer the city of AI (Jos8:26, Ex17:11). Great victories of the scriptures used the scriptures as their guide for victory
The Old Testament War Manuel is a comprehensive study of the first five books of the Bible seen through the lens of a warrior. It is a journey intertwined with spiritual principals and martial arts. The result is a code to live by: why to fight, who to fight and how to fight.e.
"I thought this book was only for those who were in the class, or only for those in training. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are so many good life lessons in it. Practical and applicable teachings for every day life. Good job!"
